Piano Tuning
Price: $75 + travel
Time: 30-120 minutes, depending on the condition of the piano.
Description:
Piano tuning may look simple, but it is actually a complicated process. Ironically, pianos are actually NOT IN TUNE! There is something called the equal temperament system that is utilized by pianos in order to allow any key signature to be played, without each one sounding different. (google this topic to learn more, it can be very interesting!)
I will open up your piano, and begin by resetting the temperament if needed. This process starts by blocking the outside strings (there are three per-note for most of the piano) and tuning only the inside strings. After this, the outside strings are tuned to their middle-string-neighbor, and this process goes out to the ends of the bass and treble sections.
Let me know if anything is not working properly on your piano, and I would be happy to inspect it and give you a report free of charge.
